Serverless Series Format
If you keep manga on a network share (SMB/NAS), Yomu can display rich metadata — covers, authors, genres, summaries — without a media server. Place two files in each series folder and Yomu picks them up automatically during a scan.

A single JSON object with any combination of these fields — all are optional:

The cover image for the series. JPEG or PNG, any resolution — Yomu resizes it automatically. Name it cover.jpg, cover.jpeg, cover.png, or cover.webp.
Export from Komga or Kavita
Already running a media server? Open any series in Yomu from your Komga or Kavita source and tap the export button ( in the toolbar). Yomu fetches the full metadata and cover from the server and generates series.json + cover.jpg ready to save to your share.
ComicInfo.xml
Yomu also reads ComicInfo.xml (the standard CBZ metadata format). If both series.json and ComicInfo.xml exist in a folder, series.json takes priority. If neither exists, Yomu tries to extract metadata from the first archive in the folder.
